Recurrent angina after coronary revascularization: a clinical challenge.
نویسندگان
چکیده
Coronary revascularization procedures by means of percutaneous coronary interventions or coronary artery bypass graft surgeries are performed worldwide daily for the symptomatic treatment of patients with myocardial ischaemia. Nevertheless, angina remains a significant clinical problem. Management of angina recurring or persisting after coronary revascularization is particularly challenging. This review attempts to summarize the most common causes of recurrent chest pain after coronary revascularization, to analyse the possible diagnostic approaches, and to discuss the potential treatment modalities.

Acute coronary syndromes in diabetic patients often pose therapeutic challenges. Both percutaneous and surgical revascularization procedures have a lower success rate and a greater complication rate in diabetics compared to non diabetic patients. Here we discuss the case of an old diabetic patient with angina recurring 15 year after a CABG operation. Based on coronary anatomy and clinical prese...
متن کاملRecurrent angina after coronary angioplasty: mechanisms, diagnostic and therapeutic options.
Recurrent angina in patients who underwent percutaneous coronary intervention is defined as recurrence of chest pain or chest discomfort. Careful assessment is recommended to differentiate between non-cardiac and cardiac causes. In the case of the latter, recurrent angina occurrence can be related to structural ('stretch pain', in-stent restenosis, in-stent thrombosis, incomplete revascularizat...
